MOORE — The Moore Public Library has rescheduled its program Tax Tips for Tornado Survivors to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, in Rooms A and B of the library, 225 S. Howard Ave. The program was pushed back due to inclement weather on its original date.
The aftermath of the May storms that ripped through central Oklahoma continue for many Oklahoma families. Many may see an unusual year when it comes to their personal income tax preparation due to the circumstances.
The program will be presented by John Doak, Commissioner of the Oklahoma Department of Insurance, and Todd Pefferman, CPA, a partner with BKD, LLP in Oklahoma City, on behalf of the Oklahoma Society of CPAs.
Pefferman is a graduate of Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Mo., and his experience includes volunteering to help in that community after a major tornado hit Joplin in 2011.
The presenters will discuss the steps and provide information on what those recovering from the aftermath of the storm may face in their tax preparation for their 2013 return.
Registration is required in advance to attend.
