Anna Myers to speak Saturday

MOORE — Anna Myers will be the guest speaker for the Oklahoma City Writers’ Inc. monthly program on Saturday.

The meetings are held in the ground floor student lounge of the Meinders School of Business at Oklahoma City University with a social at 9:30 a.m. and the guest speaker at 10 a.m. Meetings are free and open to the public. Membership is $20 per year.

Myers has published 19 novels, all of which are for middle-grade or young-adult readers. She has had books honored by the New York Public Library for Best Books for the Teen Age, and also has seen several of her selections placed on the New York Public Library’s list of 100 Books to Read and Share.

Her novels have received awards from the Parents’ Choice Award, Notable Social Studies Trade Books, Children’s Crown Award Honor Book, Society of School Librarians International Book Award, ALA Quick Pick List, and the Junior Library Guild Selection. Myers also is a speaker for writing conferences and workshops.
