MOORE — Three Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation offices will hold open houses March 19 to highlight services available to residents and offer information on the coming People with Disabilities Awareness Day, which is set for April 2 at the state Capitol.

The open houses will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will allow residents a chance to talk about DRS services, register for the Awareness Day event and even get help scheduling an appointment to meet with their lawmakers if desired.

People with Disabilities Awareness Day is a chance for those with disabilities and their advocates to talk with decision-makers who oversee disability services, which make a critical difference in the lives of Oklahomans. Last year, more than 700 people attended Awareness Day, which is hosted by the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services and friends.

The DRS offices taking part include the DRS Norman office at 2227 W. Lindsey, Suite 1200, 329-6096; the DRS South Oklahoma City office at 8001 S. Interstate 35, Suite 100, 636-3101; and the DRS Stillwater office at 3004 E. 6th, 743-6904.
