MOORE — Moore native Adam Graham recently announced his candidacy for House District 54.

“I am blessed with a wonderful family and support system,” Graham said. “I love Moore and Oklahoma City and want to see us moving forward in a positive direction. We are a fast-growing area, and we need a representative who can keep up with the pace. I understand the many issues of District 54. I grew up and live there. If elected, I hope to be a strong, conservative voice for my district.”

Graham graduated from Moore High School and is enrolled at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, pursuing a degree in political science. At SWOSU, he served the Student Government Association as the Associate of the Courts. Graham is an active leader among his Phi Delta Theta fraternity brothers.

In high school, Graham obtained a business certificate from Moore Norman Technology Center.

In his entrepreneurship class, he founded the Sydney’s Smiles Foundation to help Oklahoma children and families with serious medical conditions.

“I started Sydney’s Smiles after my cousin Sydney passed away from an unknown medical condition in September 2010,” Graham said. “I could not stand to see children go without the necessary medical equipment they needed to live comfortably.”

To date, the foundation has donated requested items such as a handicap-accessible van, wheel chairs, iPads and much more. Sydney’s Smiles is based in Moore.

Autism Awareness, The Make a Wish Foundation, American Cancer Society, The Red Cross, Phi Delta Theta Foundation, ALS Foundation, JD McCarty Center and The Children’s Center in Bethany are among the organizations Graham supports.

Graham attends First United Methodist Church in Moore. He holds fond memories of attending Sunday services with his late grandmother, Karen McCornack.
