MOORE — Through a partnership between the Cleveland County officials and the local 4-H, area youth will get a behind the scenes look at county government.
“It’s not every day that youth are given the opportunity to perform the responsibilities of our elected officials.” Jessie Furnish, Cleveland County 4-H educator, said.
During the event youth will be divided into two groups, judicial and financial. In the judicial group, youth will go through the process from issuing a traffic ticket to court appearance and all the steps in between. For the financial group, youth will learn how to assess property and taxes and where funds go next in the county government.
The event is open to all youth ages 9 to 19 and will be from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., April 8 at the Cleveland County Courthouse.
