MOORE — It was business as usual Monday as the Cleveland County Board of Commissioners approved a number of business items on their weekly agenda and discussed ongoing projects.
Commissioner Rod Cleveland said they are continuing road construction on SE 149th Street. The project actually stretches through Oklahoma City and Norman including overlay and reconstruction of the road.
The county also is getting closer to being done with the parking lot near the courthouse, he said.
The next step with the parking lot is figuring out who will be permitted to park there. They should discuss whether parking will be limited to county employees or maybe allowing attorneys that work in the courthouse every day, he said.
The parking lot is being used, but still is undergoing some finishing touches. It is south of the courthouse.
Two bids listed under old business on the agenda were tabled. One bid was to provide website design services to redesign and incorporate the county’s websites into a content management system. The other bid was for a one-year non-encumbered contract for an inmate telephone system for the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office.
Two applications for permits submitted by Oklahoma Natural Gas were approved. One of the permits proposed a two-inch pipeline crossing Indian Hills Road in District 1 and the other proposed a four-inch pipeline crossing 48th Avenue Southeast in District 3.
An application for a permit by Windstream Communications was stricken until they fill out a new application because of a lack of information provided. The company wanted the permit to dry bore an area and set up a new pod near a right-of-way in District 3, the agenda states.
Two agreements on the agenda were approved as well. The first was between the health department and Absolute Data Shredding for document destruction services for the Norman and Moore offices.
The second agreement was between the county commissioners, on behalf of The County Treasurer and Official Payments Corporation to provide maintenance or services and charge service fees to citizens of the county so it’s more convenient to customers making credit or debit card payments.
Service fees on credit card and MasterCard debit card payments for property tax are 2.5 percent with a minimum service fee of $3.95. Service fees on Visa consumer debit card payments for property tax are $3.95 flat fee.
The contract for the service fees will expire in June 2014.
A resolution for disposing two Kawasaki ATVs from the Sheriff’s department also was approved. The ATVs will be returned to Ajax Kawasaki.
Other items approved included monthly reports of county officers, blanket purchase orders and purchase orders for payment of personal services, travel, maintenance and operation and capital outlay.
