County Democratic Party to meet March 14

MOORE — The Cleveland County Democratic Party will hold its precinct meetings at 7 p.m. March 14 at the J.D. McCarty Center, 2002 E. Robinson St., in Norman and at Home Creations, 2252 N. Broadway, in Moore.

All registered Democrats are eligible to serve as precinct officers. The precinct chair, vice chair and secretary will be elected at these meetings. Elected precinct officers will then be able to serve as a delegate to the Cleveland County Democratic Party Convention, which will be held April 6 at the J.D. McCarty Center.

At the precinct meetings, relevant sections of the Oklahoma Democratic Party Constitution and By-laws will be explained. Precinct maps, descriptions of officer duties and organizational dates will be provided at the meetings. The precinct meetings also are an opportunity for participants to suggest resolutions for the Resolutions Committee to consider.

Participants can find out their precinct number by checking their voter identification card or calling the Cleveland County Election Board.

If you have any questions about duties of a precinct officer or being an officer at any level, call the current officers at 447-3366, stop by the Cleveland County Democratic Party headquarters at 300 W. Gray St. in Norman or email Copies of the party By-laws are at the party headquarters, which is open Monday-Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Thursday 4:30 to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.
