UPDATED: ME releases names of tornado victims

NORMAN — Ten children, including two infants, are among the victims of Monday’s tornado, according to the state Medical Examiner.

One person has not been identified and next-of-kin have not been contacted for eight other victims.

The medical examiner released additional names of those who died in the storm.

Victims include:

Terri Long, 49

Megan Futrell, 29

Case Futrell, 4 months

Shannon Quick, 40

Sydnee Vargyas, 7 months

Karrina Vargyas, 4

Jenny Neely, 38

Antonia Canderaria, 9

Kyle Davis, 8

Janae Hornsby, 9

Sydney Angle, 9

Emily Conatzer, 9

Nicolas McCabe, 9

Christopher Legg, 9

Cindy Plumley, age unknown

Deanna Ward, age unknown

Officials say 20 of the 24 were Moore residents, and four were from Oklahoma City.

The first victim of Moore’s tornado was identified by family as 9-year-old Janae Hornsby, a Plaza Towers Elementary student, according to a local news station.

Metro funeral homes identified two other Plaza Towers students who died in the storm. They are Antonia Lee Candelaria, 9, and Kyle Steven Davis, 8.

A woman and her son killed inside a 7-Eleven near SW 4 and Telephone Road were identified as Megan Billingsley Futrell, 29, and her 3-month-old son, Case.

Additionally, the state Medical Examiner’s office identified two men who died in Sunday’s tornado. They are Glen Irish, 79, and Billy Hutchinson, 76. Both men were from Shawnee. Irish was a milkman.
