MOORE — Little Axe Elementary teacher, Brian Tupper, was named the 2012-2013 Little Axe School District Teacher of the Year Friday.

As part of the surprise announcement, Tupper was honored at a luncheon by the district’s administration, teachers and staff. Tupper has taught at the Elementary School for four years and has shared his personal mission statement as a reflection of both short and long term goals — a window into the values that guide his decisions both personally and professionally.

Tupper said he strives to display honor, honesty, hard work, helping others and holds high expectations for himself, as well as his students.

Also being honored at the luncheon were Mata Alterman, Middle School Teacher of the Year and David Bounds, High School Teacher of the Year.

District officials said all three teachers exemplify excellence in education and go the extra mile to deliver to their students the most valuable commodity: a quality education.
