MOORE — Helen Margaret Nelson, 83, was born on Dec. 25, 1929, to Roy and Susie Setzer in Rogers, Texas. She passed from this life Wednesday, Aug. 7 in Moore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C., in 1992. She also was preceded by her parents, two sisters, one brother and one grandchild.
Survivors include her son, Paul Nelson and wife Renea of Oklahoma City; daughter, Sheila Hill and husband Calvin of Moore; daughter, Theresa Moss and husband Donny of Las Vegas; son, Mike Nelson and wife Stephanie of Piedmont; son, Randy Nelson and wife Sherry of Oklahoma City; brother, Roy W. Setzer Jr. and wife Faye of Waco, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Helen met and married J.C. in 1952 in Temple, Texas. She was a long-time member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Oklahoma City. Helen was an active volunteer in numerous church activities and was the Sunday school secretary.
Helen worked for Diamond Crystal Specialty Foods for 20 years, retiring in 1992. When not spending time with her family and friends, she loved traveling. She went abroad on many trips, including Hawaii, Europe, Alaska and numerous cruises.
As an incredible mom and grandparent, she will be greatly missed by all of her immediate and church family.
Services were Aug. 10 at the Moore Funeral Home chapel.
Interment followed at Smith Cemetery in Moore.
