MOORE — Arthur “King Arthur” Allen Towler, of Moore, passed from this life Sunday, February 9, 2014 at his home at the age of 62. Arthur was born on Sept. 19, 1951, in St. Louis, to Arthur Lee Towler and Geraldine Ann (Haggin) Towler-Boomer.
At a young age Arthur became a cook in Moore. Years later he became a custodian serving the Moore community for 36 years at Northmoor Elementary School and Moore High School.
Arthur enjoyed spending time with his mom and family. He loved his fish. He loved history, especially focusing on the Titanic, King Tut era, the last days of Pompeii and the Ten Commandments.
His interests lay not only in the past but the possibilities of the future, shown in his interests of Star Trek and Star Wars. Arthur was a true OU fan. He also found pleasure in shopping at malls, plus going to casinos.
Arthur is survived by his four brothers, John Towler, David Towler and wife Sandy, Joe Towler and Mark Harris and wife Pam; four sisters, Paula Fletcher, Katherine Shelburne, Barbara Trujillo and husband Poncho and Patty Dodson and husband John; a host of nieces and nephews; a cousin David Bard and wife Joy and kids; and several close family members from Las Vegas.
Arthur was preceded in death by his father, Art Towler and stepmother Libby Towler; his mother, Geraldine “Geri” Towler-Boomer and stepfather Herschel Boomer; his sister, Teri Nichols; one brother-in-law, James Fletcher; one sister-in-law, Deborah Towler; three nephews, Kyle, Craig and Troy; and one niece, Ginger.
Funeral services for Arthur were Wednesday, Feb, 12, 2014, at B. G. Boydston Funeral Home chapel in Lindsay. Bro. Bill Love officiated. Interment followed at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay.
