MOORE — Melodie Marie Fite, 58, of Moore, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013. She was born June 30, 1955, in Seattle, Wash., to Vernon Ray and Jacqueline Marie (Avery) Robinson.
Melodie was a faithful member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Moore where she played in the handbell choir for the church and taught third grade Sunday school. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed flags for the Color Guard at Moore High School. She also sewed beautiful clothing for her family as well as weddings.
Melodie was employed at the Moore Public Library for more than 18 years. Since 2009, she also worked for the Pioneer Service Center in Norman. Melodie was a wonderful wife, mother and friend.
She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Larry W. Fite of Moore; daughter, Elaine M. Fite and husband Daniel Walker of Renton, Wash.; son, Nathan W. Fite and wife Sabrina and their children, Tommy and Lacey Henry of Renton, Wash.; daughter, Rachel E. Fite of the home in Moore; her mother, Jackie Robinson of Renton, Wash.; sister, Lucretia Shafer and husband Steve of Kent, Wash.; brother, Roland Robinson and wife Melissa of Tacoma, Wash.; sister, Tina Damon and husband Mark of Camas, Wash.; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other loving family members and friends.
Melodie was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Robinson.
A prayer vigil was held Sept. 29 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. A funeral Mass was Sept. 30 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Jack Feehily officiating. Melodie will be interred at Greenwood Cemetery in Renton, Wash.
