MOORE — Ruth L. Roberts, 81, of Moore, was called and received into the arms of her Lord and Savior on March, 18, 2013. She was born in Mason on March 23, 1931, to Claude Womack and Dovie Wilson.

She married Laverne Clayton on Sept. 11, 1948, in Stafford, Kan. After living in several cities in Oklahoma, she and Laverne settled in Duncan. Ruth was a hairstylist and beautician, and owned and operated the First Carousel Beauty Shop in Duncan.

After retiring from the workforce she learned and truly loved to go square dancing. She was part of a local square dancing club in southwest Oklahoma.

Ruth brought joy and cheer to all the people she came across in her life. She will be always loved and missed by her family. Ruth will always be remembered for her zest for life by her family and friends. She was surrounded by her loving family when she was called home to heaven.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Laverne Clayton; and her mother Dovie Hill.

She is survived by her loving and caring daughter, Wanda Strickland of the home; her grandson and wife, Jimmy and Robbie Taylor of Blanchard; and her two great-grandchildren, Tara Elrod and Heaven Beasley of Blanchard.

No services will be held. Arrangements provided by the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel in Moore.
