MOORE — Dale Gene Buckles, 60, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in Moore. Dale was born Jan. 6, 1953, in Oklahoma City to Russell and Bobbie Buckles.
Services were Saturday at Eastern Avenue Church in Moore. Interment followed at Moore Cemetery.
He was a graduate of Moore High School, class of 1971 and had resided in Moore all of his life. Dale retired from OG&E after 33 years of service. He was a lineman and then became a locator.
Dale had many hobbies, including jug-line fishing, mini stock dirt track racing and playing cards, especially 31. He also enjoyed OU and Moore Lions football. Dale loved being at the lake, his favorite was Thunderbird. He also was a NASCAR racing fan and Dale Earnhardt was his hero.
Dale was a member of the India Masonic Lodge #551, and was very active in the India Shrine. A natural salesman, he was consistently in the top five of circus sales. His offices within the Shrine included, Sand Fleas Cpt., Motor Corps President, Ambassador Emeritus, ending as Nomads Cpt. and Circus Novelty Chairman.
His first love was spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. Dale will be reunited with his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jean; children, Dana and husband Jeff, Jerry and wife Amy; brother, David and wife Donna; five grandkids, Tyler, Logan, Colton, Trent and Riley.
John M. Ireland Funeral Home chapel handled arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the India Shrine Transportation Fund.
