Edith Evaline ‘Rusty’ Willis

MOORE — Edith Evaline “Rusty” Willis died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

The daughter of Earl and Gussie Juree Waggnor Ash, Rusty was born on Aug. 19, 1947, in Oklahoma City.

She married Michael James “Mickey” Willis on Dec. 22, 1966, .They had one child, a daughter, Tonya Rena Willis Felton.

Rusty is survived by her husband, Mickey of the home in Moore; daughter, Rena Felton and son-in-law Derek Felton of Norman; brother, Bob Ash of Owasso; sisters, Mary “Snooks” “Tootie” Ash Cardin of Moore and Jo Ann Ash Winfield of Oklahoma City; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Leroy “Boots” Ash, William Russell “Pat” Ash and Earl Andrew “Bubby” Ash.

Although retired from General Motors, Rusty worked with her husband at gun and knife shows held throughout the area. Rusty enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and Bible study and playing video games – particularly interactive ones with family.

In recent years, Rusty and Mickey had taken up a photographic hobby and enjoyed traveling to new locations for the purpose of capturing scenic views. Rusty particularly enjoyed talking close-up shots of flowers and animals.

She was an active member of Southern Hills Baptist Church including the Encouragers Sunday School Class through which she, along with her husband, participated in Bible study and social activities, as well as helped with the clothes closet, food pantry and English as a second language class.

Arrangements were provided by the John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel in Moore.
