Roy Lee Robinett

MOORE — Roy Lee Robinett, 68 of Little Axe, passed away Sunday Sept. 23, 2012, at the Norman Regional Healthplex.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Wilson-Little Funeral Home chapel in Purcell.

Roy was born May 2, 1944, in Moore, the oldest of eight children born to Delbert Wesley Robinett and Ruby Leona Inez (Idell) Robinett. He was raised in the Moore and Noble areas.

He met his true love; a young lady from Wanette named Wanda Kay Brown. They fell in love and were married on Aug. 8, 1968, in Little Axe. Together, they raised three children: daughter, Diana, and sons Dale and Troy.

In his younger years, Roy worked for Malones’ Meat Co., and later Unit Parts in Norman. He then drove a school bus for Noble Public Schools. In 1974, he began working at the University of Oklahoma in the motor pool. He retired after more than 29 years of dedicated service.

In his spare time, Roy enjoyed spending time in his garden and raising farm animals. He loved the outdoors and never missed an opportunity to go fishing. He cherished his family and especially liked to spoil his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Ruby Robinett; and his sister, Betty Sue Robinett.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda of the home; daughter, Diana Robinett of Little Axe; sons Dale Robinett of Little Axe and Troy Robinett and wife Kristy of Little Axe; three sisters, Mildred Caffey and Ann Robinett, both of Noble, and Barbara Alinger and husband John of Norman; three brothers, David Robinett and wife Amanda of McComb, Don Robinett and wife Karen of Lexington and Jerry Robinett of Lexington; three grandchildren, Katie, Emiley and Troy Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of other family and friends.

Burial will be in Chappel Hill Cemetery, east of Lexington.

Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. Send online condolences at
