MOORE — Jo Ann Scott Bickford, born Oct. 8, 1934, in Okfuskee County went to be with her Lord on June 22, 2013, at the age of 78, due to a stroke. She was the daughter of Walter and Stella Scott and the youngest of seven children.

She moved to Oklahoma City as a teenager and graduated from Central High School in 1951. On May 22, 1951, Jo Ann married Calvin William Bickford and had four children.

In 1964, Jo Ann and Calvin moved their family to Moore. While in Moore, Jo Ann worked for 27 years for the Moore Public Schools Child Nutrition Services where she warmly greeted and served students in the cafeteria at Moore High School.

She loved her husband of 62 years, her children, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Jo Ann was a faithful Christian and an active member at Oakcrest Church of Christ in Oklahoma City. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, knitting and gardening. She liked to say, “gardening allowed her to play in the dirt.”

Jo Ann is survived by her husband, Calvin; Doris Atchley and husband Roger of Oklahoma City; Cecil Bickford of Ashville, N.C.; Tony Bickford and wife Jennifer of Broken Arrow; and Judy Rendeluk and husband Mike of Moore. Jo Ann also was a very proud and loving grandmother to Chad and Jana Atchley of Grapevine, Texas; Clay and Jennifer Atchley of Oklahoma City; Sean Bickford of Ashville, N.C.; Joshua Bickford of Dallas; Anna and Burhanettin Keskin of Columbus, Ga.; Celeste and David Radke of Tallahassee, Fla. Jo Ann also had 11 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday at Draper Park Christian Church.
