Lions come out flat against in loss to Huskies

(Continued)

EDMOND —

That was more than enough time for McIntee, who broke off a 60-yard touchdown run to put North up 35-0 at halftime.

McIntee scored twice more in the first three minutes of the third quarter. He ended the night with 212 yards and five touchdown runs on eight carries.

It wasn’t until late in the third that Bernhardy led the Lions on a touchdown drive that ended with him running the ball in from 15 yards out. Ryan Lujan added a 62-yard run through the middle of the North defense in the fourth quarter.

But by then, it was too little too late as Moore just couldn’t get anything to work on both sides of the ball.

Now, with two games left in the season and playoffs aspirations dashed, the Lions have to find something else to play for.

“What I want to see is no one give up,” Sprayberry said. “We still have two games left. We can still win these games and finish off with some pride. Maybe knock some teams out of the playoffs. I know the chances of us getting in are really slim, but knocking them out would be just as good.”

The Lions host district leader Norman North Friday at Moore Stadium.
