Moore War: The 5th annual Annual Moore War Run is at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug.24. This 5K run through downtown Moore benefits the scholarship funds for Moore and Westmoore. This run is sanctioned by the USATF and timed with ChampionChips.

Since 1988, Lions and Jaguars have sparred against one another in a race to determine the big cat in town. When it comes to Moore War, rivalries run deep and emotions run high. Each August, alums from Moore and Westmoore, as well as members of the community, put aside their differences to come together for a common cause--current students.

Westmoore alum Jade Staggs shot a 75 in the first round the 6,351-yard course and a 73 Tuesday to advance to to the next round of the tourney. The top 64 advance to match play, which begins Wednesday. The other 92 players in the field go home.
