John Nobles basketball tourney on tap

MOORE — The annual John Nobles Basketball Tournament is set to begin at Moore High. The MHS boys and girls will leach host a tournament Thursday through Saturday at the Moore High gym.

The girls bracket includes No. 4 Southmoore, No. 6 Muskogee and No. 15 Choctaw. Also included are Eisenhower, Ponca City, Tahlequah and Lawton High.

On the boys side, No. 1 Bishop McGuinness (5A) comes in as the top seed with a 13-2 record. Even though the Lions have lost three straight games, they earned the second seed at their own tourney.

Also in the boys field are NW Classen, Southmoore, Capital Hill, Lawton High, Ponca City and Tahlequah.

The tourney tips off at 10 a.m. with Ponca City and Eisenhower. The boys matchup between Bishop McGuinness and Classen will take the court at 11:30 a.m.

The title games are set for 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
