Area players take home awards

MOORE — With the prep football season winding down this week, postseason awards were announced last week. And several area players found themselves on multiple list.

Westmoore quarterback Jhames West was named the District 6A-2 Offensive Player of the Year while linebacker John Morgan was the CO-Defensive Player of the Year.

Joining West and Morgan on the 6A-2 all district team are Westmoore’s Austin Richards, John Finn, Zach Clark, Nick Hardaway, Addison Staggs and Solomon Vanover.

The All-Mid State Conerence team and the All City team were also released.(Go to page 7 to see the entire lists).

    The Westmoore boys ran away with the team title Friday at the Ken Hogan Invitational Track Meet. It racked up 153 points, which was 10.5 more than second place Moore, which had 142.50.

    All teams go through changes from season to season. The seeds of the one Oklahoma’s offense is going through, however, were planted much earlier. Think back to the end of the 2012 season.
