Spring wraps up for a few teams

MOORE — Southmoore placed fifth at the Class 6A girls Golf State Championships May 1 at the River Oaks Golf Club in Edmond. They racked up 338 points, which was 42 behind champion Tulsa Union.

The Sabercats’ Cassidy Herbster tied for 15th overall after shooting an 80 over 18 holes. Moore’s Talor Greteman took 33rd with a 85.

Soccer: Westmoore lost to Edmond North 3-1 in the first round of the playoffs. The Huskies have advanced to play in the state championship game. Saturday.

On the girls side, Southmoore was shutout 6-0 by Norman North in the opening round.

Tennis: The Southmoore girls No. 1 doubles team went into the state tournament as the No. 3 seed. The combination of Lexi Klinger and Jordan Henry left in third place after defeating Bishop Kelly 6-3, 0-6, 6-4 Saturday at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center.

The SaberCats’ only loss came to No. 2 Enid on the semifinals. Jenks won the doubles titles.
