MOORE — The Oklahoma Coaches Association announced its All-State tennis teams Tuesday. Westmoore’s Sylvester You was named to the West squad.

The All-state tennis match is set for July 30 at Tulsa Union.

Slow pitch All-State: The slow pitch All-State teams were announced Saturday and the Large West team featured several area players.

They included Patty Padgett (Westmoore), Hannah lynch (Moore), Mariah Peace (Westmoore), Qiana Harrison (Moore), Braeden Bradshaw (Southmoore).

The game is set for 3 p.m. Saturday, June 15 at OU.

Girls All-State: The Oklahoma Girls Basketball Association All-State game is set for Saturday, June 1 at Westmoore High. The event will feature three games throughout the day, starting at 1:30 p.m.

Southmoore’s Kayla Tucker is playing on the large West squad which will take on the Large East at 1:30 p.m. Norman’s Bethany Cox is also a member of the Large West.

The Middle East vs Middle West take the court at 3:30 p.m. and the Small East vs Small West play at 5:30 p.m.

SaberCat camps: Southmoore High School’s football program is offering a variety of summer football camps and challenges for students in the first through eighth grade. Sooners rowing to NCAA: The Oklahoma rowing team followed a Big 12 title earned two weeks ago with a Conference USA title to secure the program’’s first NCAA Championship berth.

In only their fifth season, OU captured the title with wins in three races and second-place finishes in the other two events. OU’s 63 points edged out Tennessee (57) and Texas (56) on Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn.

“I am so incredibly proud of this team and all that we’ve achieved this year,” OU head coach Leeanne Crain said. “It will be an honor to represent the Big 12 and Conference USA at the NCAA championship later this month.”

Crain was named the Conference USA Coach of the Year, while senior captain Nikki Furmanek earned Rower of the Year honors for the second straight season. Freshman Taylor Gillespie was named the Newcomer of the Year.
