Fastpitch championship game moved to 6 p.m.

SHAWNEE — Due to weather conditions, the 6A state fastpitch championship between Moore and Southmoore has been moved from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Ballfields at Firelake in Shawnee.

The Lions and SaberCats faced off once in the regular season, with MHS coming out on top 4-2.

Southmoore will send Katelyn Brown (21-2) to the mound today to face-off with Moore’s Jenna Lewis (24-1). The Lions are seeking their third fast pitch championship while the SaberCats are looking to haul in its first.

“We are where everybody wants to be,” Southmoore coach Jeff Small said. “We are right there in the finals. We are not afraid to play those people from the east side of town, I will tell you right now."
