Law enforcement officials are looking for a man who had escaped from Moore police custody this morning.

Cleveland County Sheriff’s Deputy Nathan Douglas and his partner Django, tracked Walter Blount, who had escaped at about 6 a.m., but Django lost his scent, sheriff’s office officials said. The pursuit was terminated due to weather.

Moore Police officers were dispatched to 921 NE 12th St. in reference to a burglary in progress, according to law enforcement officials.

Once on scene, officers found the three suspects in what was determined to be a stolen vehicle. All three were arrested, but one suspect managed to put his handcuffs in front and crawl out of the cage and exit the vehicle.

About an hour later, officers engaged in a pursuit of a stolen truck, which they believed was driven by the escaped prisoner.
