Women across the area can gather at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club at 11 a.m. Sept. 8 to honor Deaconess Pregnancy & Adoption Services (DPAS).
DPAS will host its third annual Angels of Destiny luncheon and fashion show to celebrate 110 years of providing services to children, families and women in crisis pregnancies.
“I’m so honored to be part of such a tremendous event,” Event chair Sheila Amundsen, a DPAS adoptee herself, said. “It’s unheard of for an organization to stay in business for 110 years. Our theme this year is The Legacy Continues and DPAS has definitely proven this to be true.”
At the event, guests will enjoy a show featuring fashions from Cayman’s and furs from Geno’s. Designers will include Tory Burch, DVF, Elizabeth and James, Marc Jacobs, Vince, Love Moschino, Haute Hippie and Kate Spade.
Guests also will have a chance to buy tickets for Opulent Opportunities such as a Judith Ripka ring and bracelet, a Mary Francis bag, a fabulous surprise fur from Geno’s and fashionable items from Cayman’s.
Honorees at the event include Claire Culwell, who will share her story of how her biological mother had an abortion at the age of 13 not knowing she was pregnant with twins.
Although Claire survived the abortion, her twin did not. Claire was adopted by a loving, stable family through DPAS.
