Wondering what to do with your daughter this summer that doesn’t cost a lot of money? Try Girl Scouts camp.
Girl Scouts-Western Oklahoma offers a summer resident camp and a day camp experience for girls that are among the most affordable summer camp options around, said Debra Gooding, Girl Scouts. Plus, girls do not have to be a Girl Scout to go.
Day camp is located just minutes from the Oklahoma City area at Camp Cookieland. For $120, girls will take a journey to the wild west, to the wilderness and to Broadway.
During each session, girls will get a Girl Scout leadership experience through traditional outdoor activities. Girls will go hiking, arts, science, singing, games and a lot more.
“It’s a great — and safe — summer camp opportunity,” Gooding said.
The camp is 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning June 14 and through July 12. Bus transportation is available from Oklahoma City.
Resident Camp will be held at Camp E-Ko-Wah near Marlow. Sessions start at $205 for a full week of overnight activities (including food). Activities include horseback riding, swimming, hiking, science activities and robotics.
