A near capacity crowd filled the auditorium of the First Baptist Church in Moore as family, friends, administrators, faculty and staff gathered to celebrate the graduation of 474 students graduated from Moore Norman Technology Center.
MNTC Superintendent John Hunter announced the nominees for the 2010 Superintendent Awards. The post-secondary school nominees were Jennifer Alcorn, Barbara Cieri, Christi Duncan, Carol Henderson, Julie Herron, Taylor James, Heather Ray and Steffany Schmadeke.
Secondary school nominees were Christa Caho, Parker Lusk, Amber McMahan and Michaelene Stephenson. To qualify for the Superintendent Award, a student must exhibit goals, progress, accomplishments, attitude and good attendance.
The secondary winner was Lusk and the post-secondary winner was Ray.
In addition to those students graduating with diplomas from MNTC, 20 individuals earned associate degrees from Oklahoma City Community College while enrolled in their MNTC programs.
The students awarded associate degrees were Twyla Evelyn-Sha Akins, Farkhanda Ali, Shawna Nicole Bridwell, Leah A. Bryant, Stacy D. Burns, Hillary Pauline Burton, David L. Canfield, Brittany D. Collins, Kelli D. Davis, Jeff D. Hopkins, Gary W. Kay, Raquel N. Lorenzen, Eryn Nicole Nickell, Carol A. Oda, Samuel D. Pettigrew, Hoa K. Phan, Melia V. Roane, Shannon D. Stanfield, Brittani-Kay Tambe and Rachel C. Yates.
