Approximately 1,500 Moore residents will be taking their garbage to the curb on a different day starting May 4. The affected areas include the Rock Creek Addition, parts of the Old Town area and neighborhoods along Tower Drive just south of 4th St. The changes are necessary because of population growth in areas of our city. The goal is to have an equal number of pickup stops on any given day.

“The southeastern parts of Moore are growing,” says Richard Sandefur, Moore Public Works Director. “With all of the resident growth, trucks are collecting trash from significantly more households. The need to adjust our routes is necessary for our staff to meet the demands in all parts of our city.”

Residents should place their garbage poly carts at the curb prior to 7 a.m. on your collection day. Crews pick up the garbage starting at 7 a.m. on the scheduled day. Carts should be placed at the curb and should be at least 3 feet away from any obstructions such as mailboxes, planters, or vehicles.

Bagged yard waste can be placed in your poly cart if space is available. Residents should also remember to remove your poly cart from the curb by the end of your collection day.
