MOORE, Okla. — The Westmoore Pom Squad competed at the National Dance Team Championships this past weekend in Orlando, Fla., returning home as National Champions in the Medium Varsity Jazz and the Medium Varsity Hip-Hop divisions. This win brings their National Title wins to a grand total of 12.
ESPN will air the championship as they have done in the past, and the Westmoore Pom Squad will once again be featured on national television. The team made history this year as the first team to ever win a double title three years in a row. They have been attending the NDTC, administered by the Universal Dance Association, for 12 years.
Westmoore is a Public School in the Moore Public School District. It is classified as a 6A school and has an enrollment of 2,278 students. The Westmoore Pom Squad is coached by Emily Shock and Natalie Zielny, and consists of 14 female members and one male member ranging from Freshmen to Seniors.
Coach Emily Shock uploaded one of the team’s title winning performances, “Landslide” to her Facebook page, and it has had over 116,000 views in less that 24 hours.
