The Arioso Consort will present a Christmas concert at 4 p.m. Sunday at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 3939 W. Tecumseh Road.
Members of this professional ensemble are flutists Janet Romanishin and Matthew Haire, and pianist Susan Babcock. The group is based in Norman.
The music will be traditional carols, many of which are featured on the consort's CD, “On Christmas Night.”
The concert is free and open to the public.
“The program is offered as a gift to the community and is especially designed to provide a respite from the stress so typical of the holiday season,” according to a news release from Romanishin. “People are welcome to drop in and out quietly if they cannot be present for the entire concert.”
The Arioso Consort, a professional trio, was formed early in 2007. The members plan the release of their second CD, all Baroque trio sonatas, next spring, according to the release.
They have performed on the Lindsay Arts Council Guest Artist Series, and presented a concert to benefit the Mayflower Church Organ Project in Oklahoma City.
