Have you wanted to grow a garden, but didn’t know where to start?

The Cleveland County Master Gardeners will present a series of basic “how to garden” workshops on selected Saturday mornings from January through March.

The series is designed for those have the urge, but have never had the opportunity to learn about gardening, according to a news release from Tracey Payton Miller, horticulture extension educator with Cleveland County OSU Cooperative Extension Service.

Topics will cover aspects of vegetable and ornamental gardening, and will include demonstrations and instructions.

Each session will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m, at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds Meeting Room C. Series topics and dates are:

· Jan. 14: Planning & Creating Garden Space

· Feb. 18: Soil Preparation

· Feb.25: Planting the garden

· March 10: Maintaining the garden

· March 24: Composting & Harvesting
