A verbal dispute escalated to a woman allegedly assaulting her husband with a knife and setting fire to their Moore residence Thursday.

Kimberly Jean Samaniego, 33, was charged Friday in Cleveland County District Court with first-degree arson and domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

The couple was in a verbal dispute Thursday, but when Samaniego's husband attempted to leave with his three children, Samaniego stabbed the tires on the vehicle he was trying to leave in, according to the affidavit filed with charges.

Samaniego then swung the knife at him, cutting him over his right eye. Shortly after, Samaniego went into the residence and started a fire in the garage, records show.

The woman was arrested on complaints of first-degree arson and domestic abuse with a dangerous weapon.

An enhancement page filed with the charges Friday show Samaniego has previously been convicted of, or pled guilty to, two counts of obtaining controlled dangerous substance by fraud and uttering a forged instrument in May 2007 in Cleveland County.
