4 earthquakes shake Kingfisher area Tuesday

ENID, Okla. — A series of four earthquakes shook the Kingfisher area Tuesday morning, according to data from U.S. Geological Survey.

The largest of the four was a 3.1 magnitude quake, which was detected at 9:44 a.m. roughly 7.5 miles west of Kingfisher, the data shows.

This quake was preceded by a smaller 2.6 magnitude 8 miles west-southwest of Kingfisher, at 9:19 a.m.

Another 2.6 quake kicked off at 9:52 a.m., 8 miles west of Kingfisher, according to USGS data. A fourth quake, measuring magnitude 2.5, was reported in the same area at 1:06 p.m.

All four of the earthquakes detected Tuesday morning were approximately 4 miles in depth.
