ENID, Okla. — Enid police are continuing their investigation of an early morning home invasion Wednesday that left an Enid woman in critical condition.

At 2:41 a.m., police were called to a residence in the 400 block of West Vine for an assault in progress. Responding officers found a woman inside the residence with life-threatening injuries. Several children present told officers masked men forced their way inside the residence, attacked the woman and fled before police arrived.

Capt. Tim Jacobi said the 41-year-old woman was flown to an Oklahoma City hospital following the attack. Her identity is being withheld during the investigation, and the children were removed to a safe place.

"The victim remains in critical condition in Oklahoma City," Jacobi said. "We are still very actively investigating this case. However, we do not believe this was a random act or that theft was the motive."

The suspects were described as two, possibly Hispanic, men both wearing long-sleeve shirts and gloves. One may have worn a black mask and blue Nike shoes, and the other may have worn a red mask and black Nike shoes.

Police are asking neighboring residents to check security surveillance for unfamiliar or suspicious persons and vehicles. Anyone with information about the crime is also asked to contact police.

Those with information leading to the arrest or prosecution of this or any crime can report an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at (580) 233-6233, www.enid.org/departments/police or text to 274637, typing “Enid” and a message in the text box.

Those submitting a tip could earn a reward up to $1,000 and will not be required to testify nor be identified.
