You wouldn’t know it by listening to the television meteorologists squawking, but central Oklahoma really dodged the bullet on the weather this past weekend.
We had a few slick spots with some sleet and drizzle, but it didn’t snarl traffic or disrupt too many activities. (It more than likely put a big dent in the Sunday morning collection baskets.)
Still, city and county road crews were out sanding intersections, hills and overpasses. Holiday plans or not, those crews and utility workers are on notice that they could be called out at any minute.
One county commissioner reminded us that while we are at home by the fireplace or sleeping, there’s a bunch of workers out on the job. For them, we give thanks.
