I have had the fortune this week of attending the 85th US Conference of Mayors in Washington, D.C., chaired by OKC’s own Mick Cornett. I have attended three days of educational meetings and luncheons along with 306 mayors from all across the country – form Beverly Hills to Olympia; from Racine, WI to Boston; and Gainesville, FL to Brownsville. There were mayors I never thought I would see except on television such as the mayors from New York, Chicago, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Many of these mayors have a responsibility for more people than our whole state.
